Captain Glynn Schmidt and Diane Loyd Schmidt are Texas coast locals who’ve turned their lifelong passions for fishing, hunting, and wildlife photography into a one-of-a-kind charter experience based out of Rockport, TX.
With over 55 years of fishing experience, Capt. Glynn knows the Texas coast like the back of his hand, covering waters from Trinity Bay all the way down to Port Mansfield. Diane, a seasoned wildlife photographer with 30 years behind the lens, has captured incredible moments from around the world. But it all started here, with her early days fishing in Copano Bay and Cedar Bayou alongside her father, a local fishing guide. Diane’s experience goes well beyond the coast, as she’s also an Advanced Scuba Diver with a collection of breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime underwater shots.
Together, Glynn and Diane bring an unmatched blend of local expertise and a deep love for the area’s natural beauty, creating a charter experience that’s both adventurous and authentic. Whether you’re after trophy fish or that print-worthy photograph, they’ll guide you through some of the best fishing spots and natural sights the Texas coast has to offer.

EXPLORE THE GULF
The Texas Gulf Coast, stretching from Trinity Bay down to Port Mansfield, is a pretty magical stretch for anyone who loves the outdoors. For fishing charters, you’re looking at some of the best inshore fishing anywhere, with a huge range of species to target. Redfish, speckled trout, and flounder are the mainstays, but there’s also a shot at big drum and the occasional tarpon, especially if you head down toward the lower coast. Each bay system has its own personality, too—Galveston Bay is expansive with a mix of flats and marshes, while Baffin Bay is known for its rocky reefs and trophy trout. No matter where you go, the fishing here is all about variety and adventure.
But it’s not just the fishing that makes this place special. The Texas coast is packed with diverse wildlife, making it perfect for nature tours, bird watching, and photography. It’s one of the main flyways for migratory birds in North America, so during the right season, you can spot everything from white pelicans to roseate spoonbills and even the occasional whooping crane. Plus, the sunsets out over the water are unreal, making for incredible photo ops if you’re out there with a camera. From the winding marshes up north to the clear, sandy flats further south, this coast has a little something for everyone who’s wild about nature.
